Definition of Audience

A Demographic table shows the social classes that categorise the differences between them. These social classes are categorized as A, B, C1, C2, D, E
It is essential that an institution knows who their target audience is. This is because every institution is selling a product in some form or other, the research in to the target audience contributes to how the consideration process were the institution decides how a particular product should be presented and advertised to reach that target market that they are trying to convince to buy their product. To get an idea of who my target audience is will help me in the construction of my ancillary texts and the way they look to match my demographics interests. In order to carry out this research, I will have to carry out an investigation through survey in the hope that I will get the answers I require. The price for my R&B album will be priced depending on the results I get from my research.

After carrying out my survey and collecting the responses, I discovered that my audience demographic is categorised by C1 and C2 demographic. This didn't surprise me because most of my audience are consumerists which means they need a fair bit of money to create an image of themselves through the brands that they consume.

The study and classification of people according to their attitudes, aspirations, and other psychological criteria, especially in market research.

My audiences Psychographics can be defined as an Aspirer. After reading through the different areas on the Psychographics table I thought that the one that reflects my audiences psychological criteria the most was an Aspirer. My audience is materialistic, acquisitive, affiliative, they like to purchase products that create an image of themselves, an image that reflects their wealth to the people around them. This is further encouraged by the product placement that we see in various forms of media like music videos. Products are sometimes used by the artists in an attempt to exploit the viewers spending habits.
